Cambridge Schools in Harare
Searching for Cambridge schools in Harare? Advent Hope Academy teaches the Cambridge international pathway from the junior years through to AS and A Level, with a Zimsec pathway alongside it, in a disciplined Christian setting.

The Cambridge pathway at our Harare school
Advent Hope Academy teaches the Cambridge international pathway from the foundation years through to university entrance. Young learners start with a caring, Cambridge-aligned foundation, senior classes work towards Cambridge IGCSE, and Forms 5 and 6 take AS and A Level.
Cambridge is taught in the same small classes and with the same Christian values that shape the rest of the academy, so learners gain an international qualification without leaving a Zimbabwean school community.
Examination pathways we offer
Learners can sit Cambridge Check-Point, Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge AS & A Level on the international pathway. For families who prefer the national route, we also offer the Zimsec pathway, including a Zimsec day centre in Harare's CBD.
Both pathways are supported by the same committed teaching staff, and our examination boards page explains how the two systems work side by side at the academy.
- Cambridge Check-Point, IGCSE, AS & A Level
- Zimsec pathway, including a Harare CBD day centre
- Science, commercial and humanities subject streams
- One admissions team for either pathway
Year groups on the Cambridge pathway
The Cambridge route is a ladder, not a leap. Junior learners build the reading, reasoning and number skills the programme assumes. Lower secondary classes begin working in the Cambridge style, being assessed on understanding rather than memory. Senior classes choose IGCSE subjects, and Forms 5 and 6 specialise in three or four A Level subjects matched to their university plans.
Because the academy runs from Nursery to Form 6, a learner who starts young climbs the whole ladder with teachers who have watched them climb each rung.
Why Harare families choose Cambridge
Cambridge programmes train learners to reason, investigate and argue a case in writing, the skills universities look for, and Cambridge qualifications are recognised in Zimbabwe and more than 160 countries. For families weighing study at home against study abroad, it keeps both doors open.
Our teachers also know the Zimsec system deeply, so the choice between pathways is a genuine, informed decision made with the school, not a one-way door at age eleven.
