A private school registered in Zimbabwe, rooted in Harare

Advent Hope Academy is a Christian private school serving Harare families from the early years through to university entrance. We are registered in Zimbabwe and organised as one group of schools: Advent Hope Junior for the foundation years, our high school for the secondary years, and Advent Hope Boarding for families who want a structured, supervised home away from home.

Because the schools share one ethos and one admissions team, parents deal with the same people from the first enquiry in Nursery to the final A Level results, and learners move between our schools without the disruption of starting over.

Our educational approach

We are a small school by design. Classes are kept small enough for teachers to know each learner's name, strengths and gaps, and to act on them. The academy's values, Focus, Hope, Integrity and Success, are not a poster on a wall: they shape how behaviour is corrected, how effort is praised and how learners are prepared for the world after school.

As a Christian school, pastoral care sits alongside the academic programme. Learners take part in worship and activities that build character, and parents are treated as partners in each child's growth.

Curriculum and examinations

Learners at Advent Hope Academy can follow the Cambridge international pathway or the Zimsec pathway. The Cambridge route builds from a strong junior foundation through Cambridge Check-Point and IGCSE to AS and A Level, while the Zimsec route prepares learners for national examinations, including a Zimsec day centre in Harare's CBD.

Because our teachers are familiar with both pathways, families can choose the route that fits their child's plans, in Zimbabwe or abroad, and can review that choice as those plans become clearer.

Facilities and school life

Learning happens in well-kept classrooms and a science laboratory where learners do practical work rather than watch it. Boarders live in supervised dormitories and eat together in the dining hall, and the whole academy takes part in sporting, cultural and leadership programmes, including Pathfinder, through the year.

Learners also use our e-library platform, so reading and research continue beyond the school day. You can see the school for yourself in the photo gallery and the boarding video tours.
